History of Broughtons
The Great Grandfather of Mr Roger Broughton teamed up with a Mr Jones and formed Broughton & Jones. This opened in 1888 at a large city centre premises in The Market Place, Leicester. In 1979, at a very young age of 32, Mr Roger Broughton then opened his own ironmongery specialist business at a corner property in Churchgate. And in 2002, the very impressive showrooms at The Old Cinema Anstey, were opened. After the cinema closed in 1957, The Old Cinema became a petrol filling station, then a Pub and prior to Broughtons, an Indian restaurant.
