A 1 Gang (single switch) Fluted Dome Switch finished in our Antique Satin Brass.
Supplied with an unfinshed square oak pattress for you to stain, wax or colour as you wish.
The high quality dolly switch mechanism is made in the UK and is rated at 20A. It is available as 2 Way, Intermediate or Retractive. A 2 way switch is suitable for operating lights that only require switching from up to 2 places, the intermediate switch would be required if the light is to be operated from more than 2 places (for example in hallways and on landings). A retractive switch is used for momentary contact to operate items such as electric blinds and roof lights etc.
Antique satin brass is a living finish that is produced by hand. It is unlacquered so it will oxidise as it is exposed to the air and it will mellow and develop a rich patina with age and use. It can be polished back to achieve a lighter brighter finish or left to age further. This natural ageing combined with the hand crafted nature of the finish means that there may be differences in colour and detail. This all adds to the beauty, character and individuality of each product. Do bear this in mind if you are buying items over a period of time. If you are a retail customer in the UK then when we send you your Goods you will also receive a delivery/returns note (as well as your receipt). Full instructions on how to return the Goods to us are on the delivery/returns note. You have 14 days from date of receipt to return Goods to us and do not have to give a reason for doing so. You will have to pay for the return of the Goods. If the entire order is being returned, your refund will include the cost of the original delivery. You can either organize the return yourself (getting proof of postage) or (mainland UK only) we can arrange a collection via our courier. Courier collections arranged by us are charged at £15 per parcel if less than 1.5m in length, or £37 for parcels over 1.5m in length (eg curtain poles).
If you are NOT a retail customer or you are outside of the UK then you will not be able to return goods to us unless they are faulty.
If you receive damaged or faulty Goods then you should contact us to arrange the return within 48 hours of your receipt of the Goods. If we confirm when the Goods arrive back with us that they are damaged or faulty, then you will not be liable for the cost of returning the Goods. You will be offered a replacement or refund.
We regret that we cannot accept returns for Special Order items (unless damaged or faulty). A Special Order item would typically be any item that is not in stock.
We cannot be held responsible for packages lost, delayed or damaged in transit. For your protection if you are returning Goods to us, we recommend that you send your package by Royal Mail Special Delivery.

Matches our older switches

The switches are well made and we soon had them matching our older switches from 1997 (another make) I used a spirit stain on a rag and ran it with the grain, I gave the brass and then the base a quick lacquer spray. Well worth the money.
Be careful if you wax the base as this may mark your wall.

But I miss matching sockets for use in Europe.
Most older houses have no ground/earth installed so
type c works in most of Europe and with ground/earth type f would be great. Type e and k are also used.

Delighted! Excellent quality; sound and solid unlike other brands I've bought before discovering Broughtons. I can't differentiate between these new dolly switches and the remaining originals. Website well designed, ordering very easy, delivery prompt. Only snag is, I want to order everything!

Delighted with these light switches, I have bought some in the past from another company and they were not a patch on these. Broughtons switches have a beautiful quality feel and finish. They finish my newly decorated hall off beautifully and look very authentic.

I have purchased three of the polished brass switches and they are absolutely the best quality. A beautiful sheen to the brass and the back plate is made of good quality oak so you can stain or oil to your own preference.
Easy to install, they look really very good, enhancing the feel and look of my period property. Customer service is excellent too. Highly recommended.

These period switches are highly authentic and well made. I have bought some fifty or so and they have transformed the period property we own. Initially they were a little tricky to install and so I used an electrician but after the first few I was easily able to continue with the rest myself. It is useful to be able to stain the oak pattresses to the desired colour of your choice.
Delivery has always been very rapid since I have bought these switches in batches and customer services have been very helpful in answering any queries.
If all the items on your order are in stock, we endeavour to despatch it within 1-2 days on a next day service to mainland UK. Other destinations will have longer transit times.
If your order contains some products that have to be made or ordered specially, we will usually wait for all your ordered items to be in stock before despatch. Please contact us if you would like parts of your order to be despatched as and when they become available. This would attract a separate delivery charge for each delivery.
