I bought this to replace a broken bell push in a Victorian backplate. The problem was that the hole in the backplate was smaller than the push shank.
A local blacksmith sorted this out for us and we now have a handsome bell push. So, if you have a defective bell, don't give up, one of these might be just the thing to fix it.

This is direct replacement for the old push which I thought had stopped working. It was a straight fit into the existing brass plate for me - the only snag was that when I unscrewed to old one it was clearly ok - no corrosion etc - and it appears the bell itself had decided not to work.. I have said all this to show what a well made push this is, 10 years + outside and no corrosion on the brass at all

I needed a replacement bell push button to replace the old one in our Victorian doorbell, and this has done the job beautifully. It needed a little bit of work to the brass plate to get it to fit (it is a little bigger) but a few minutes with a file did the job. Only criticism is that you have to give it a good press to get the contacts to work and this seems to be more than some delivery people, used to buttons which you just jab, can cope with!
