These are lovely brass door knobs, I am slowly replacing all of ours with these. They are easy to fit - and look gorgeous on my old doors, my only 'tiny' grumble is the quality of the screws supplied for fitting the roses; the heads don't survive the ordeal of screwing in to the door, but really ,not an issue if you have some spare brass screws in your toolbox..

After a lot of research I decided on these door knobs for my whole house. They look great and fit so well into the 1830's scheme. One tip - do the set screws up tight or they loosen in use.

Highly delighted!
Bought these to replace an assortment of existing hollow brass knobs that had seen better days that were fitted to rim locks on some very old internal doors,. They are made from solid brass and the renovated brass knobs are well finished. The drive spindle is threaded and contains 4 slots at 90 degrees, using the grubscrew to lock the position this allows fine adjustment to suit a wide range of total thicknesses. This coupled with a selection of knob diameters, styles and finishes meant we could get exactly the look we wanted. in keeping with the age of the property. I did find one spindle did not fit the drive square in the lock, but as I had ordered a number of sets I tried another and it fitted ok. The handles and locks now operate as intended.

Ideal as a simpler knob for a historic property. We have installed in several Listed Buildings, on 4 panel and 2 panel doors.
Two suggested improvements:
Spindle thread could be machined further (as suggested above by Graham T)
Side-view photograph would be helpful - the shape of the stem should be shown, as it is not quite what you might expect (though not unattractive)

Beautiful door knob, bought the antique satin brass 56mm, it is a really good size. Looks lovely in our Victorian house and matches the other handles on our period doors that have been there for years. Very efficient service and delivery. The member of staff I spoke to on the phone was very helpful. Would highly recommend and will be buying more at a later date.

I’m afraid the picture looks nicer than the product.
Nice colour but extremely lightweight & small for my standard size doors.
I did order size which was advertised as standard for internal doors but they look really small.
They also don’t feel like brass, they’re quite cheap looking.

We bought some bun knobs a couple of years ago so new exactly where to go for knobs for other doors. Quality is excellent and they look perfect on the old reclaimed door I fitted it to.

Unfortunately the spindle has not been machined with sufficient length of screw thread for the door knobs to fit my Georgian doors (thickness 31mm). I recommend that the manufacturers are asked to machine the thread further to ensure the knobs can also fit thinner doors.

I research before I buy. Occasionally, as is inevitable, I make mistake and buy from the wrong seller. Having tracked down these knobs, my view, by dint of hard experience, is that Broughton's represent the best quality and value available.

These were purchased for some old Victorian/Edwardian doors in my cottage having had them stripped and polished. The door handles just finish them off and are of good quality and just as described and pictured on the website. Again Broughtons have come up tops, excellent service all round.
