Edwardian style Espagnolette (or Cremone) bolt with attractive double stepped oval knob. To complement, we are able to offer switch plates, finger plates and door knobs with a similar stepped detail.
The bolts are crafted from solid brass and suit doors up to 9ft (2.74m) in height. Both lower and upper bolts are 4.1/2ft (1330mm) long and can be cut down to suit the height of your door and the desired position of the Knob/Turn. If your doors are 9ft tall then the Knob will be central to the height.
Being full height this type of bolt does help to prevent the door from warping and so should help to reduce draughts.
The bolt will look fantastic when fitted as a pair on double doors and will also suit internally opening windows. Complete with keeps, Strikers (face fix decorative and plain/angled) and screws.
Please note: You may still require security locks on external doors to meet insurance requirments (BS3621).
Antique satin brass is a living finish that is produced by hand. It is unlacquered so it will oxidise as it is exposed to the air and it will mellow and develop a rich patina with age and use. It can be polished back to achieve a lighter brighter finish or left to age further. This natural ageing combined with the hand crafted nature of the finish means that there may be differences in colour and detail. This all adds to the beauty, character and individuality of each product.We have an extensive range of items in this characterful finish including door furniture, window furniture, cabinet-ware and electrical hardware.

If you are a retail customer in the UK then when we send you your Goods you will also receive a delivery/returns note (as well as your receipt). Full instructions on how to return the Goods to us are on the delivery/returns note. You have 14 days from date of receipt to return Goods to us and do not have to give a reason for doing so. You will have to pay for the return of the Goods. If the entire order is being returned, your refund will include the cost of the original delivery. You can either organize the return yourself (getting proof of postage) or (mainland UK only) we can arrange a collection via our courier. Courier collections arranged by us are charged at £15 per parcel if less than 1.5m in length, or £37 for parcels over 1.5m in length (eg curtain poles).
If you are NOT a retail customer or you are outside of the UK then you will not be able to return goods to us unless they are faulty.
If you receive damaged or faulty Goods then you should contact us to arrange the return within 48 hours of your receipt of the Goods. If we confirm when the Goods arrive back with us that they are damaged or faulty, then you will not be liable for the cost of returning the Goods. You will be offered a replacement or refund.
We regret that we cannot accept returns for Special Order items (unless damaged or faulty). A Special Order item would typically be any item that is not in stock.
We cannot be held responsible for packages lost, delayed or damaged in transit. For your protection if you are returning Goods to us, we recommend that you send your package by Royal Mail Special Delivery.

This bolt arrived promptly, in sturdy packaging, and the goods appear very well made and exactly as described on the website. Construction is elegant and - importantly - sturdy and I have no hesitation in recommending this bolt and the service offered by Broughtons ... who I had never heard of till last month when I started investigating who could supply the bolts I needed.

This bolt looks great, is well forged and solid. It comes with multiple fixing options to cover any type of window/door frame construction and includes the screws needed. The only additional thing I would have liked to have found in the box were some instructions or perhaps a link to a video showing installation methods. I’m sure I’ll work it out, but that’ll be by scrolling through images on the website rather than referring to anything supplied with the product.
If all the items on your order are in stock, we endeavour to despatch it within 1-2 days on a next day service to mainland UK. Other destinations will have longer transit times.
If your order contains some products that have to be made or ordered specially, we will usually wait for all your ordered items to be in stock before despatch.
