Skiffers (corner protectors) are solid brass castings designed to prevent damage to skirting boards and wall corners.
It's easy to scuff corners when vacuum cleaning or moving furniture. These corner protectors prevent this and add an attractive detail.
Installation:
We always recommend drilling appropiate pilot holes prior to installation. For hardwood skirting boards we strongly recommend using a 7/64" bit for the pilot holes.
Always hand tighten the screws.

If you are a retail customer in the UK then when we send you your Goods you will also receive a delivery/returns note (as well as your receipt). Full instructions on how to return the Goods to us are on the delivery/returns note. You have 14 days from date of receipt to return Goods to us and do not have to give a reason for doing so. You will have to pay for the return of the Goods. If the entire order is being returned, your refund will include the cost of the original delivery. You can either organize the return yourself (getting proof of postage) or (mainland UK only) we can arrange a collection via our courier. Courier collections arranged by us are charged at £15 per parcel if less than 1.5m in length, or £37 for parcels over 1.5m in length (eg curtain poles).
If you are NOT a retail customer or you are outside of the UK then you will not be able to return goods to us unless they are faulty.
If you receive damaged or faulty Goods then you should contact us to arrange the return within 48 hours of your receipt of the Goods. If we confirm when the Goods arrive back with us that they are damaged or faulty, then you will not be liable for the cost of returning the Goods. You will be offered a replacement or refund.
We regret that we cannot accept returns for Special Order items (unless damaged or faulty). A Special Order item would typically be any item that is not in stock.
We cannot be held responsible for packages lost, delayed or damaged in transit. For your protection if you are returning Goods to us, we recommend that you send your package by Royal Mail Special Delivery.

Really robust lovely item, these look great in panelled hallway. Only issue was when installing two screw heads snapped off. I know this is not an issue with the sniffer but the screws were included.

Great quality protectors with an attractive finish, but the screws? Nah, find your own screws as the one supplied are poor quality.
I've used the protectors on an outdoor arbour to save the wooden legs from being gnawed by the bungee cords on its cover. Two days outside and the screws are noticeably rusty. Will be replacing with brass screws once I've sourced them.

LOVE LOVE LOVE these and will be purchasing more. I would have gave them a 5 star review however the screws let them down the head of 4 of the screws all snapped off during install. That does not detract from the workmanship of the actual skiffers though which I have recommended to others.

Quality finishing touch for kitchen island

We wanted something to protect the corners of our kitchen island (MDF plinth with mitred corners) and found these were exactly what we needed. Make sure you drill pilot holes for the screws though as we had a couple of screws heads come off when pilot holes weren’t deep enough. Looks really smart and will protect for years to come. Highly recommended.

I invited a chap to finish off our solid oak skirting after having solid wood floor laid. Needless to say like a few times before this chaps workmanship did not live up to my expectation, having to finish off the mitred corners myself. Then when browsing found Broughtons who do a nice stiffer corner protector I am so pleased with my purchase, people will not notice the mitres now only comment on the stiffer corners which look absolutely fab. I bought these to protect the corner of my new kitchen cabinets from the Aga door when it is opened. The black paint is quite thin so does chip off quite easily, but I just touch it up with a black marker pen.

I love these corner protectors. They are heavy, and solid and they add such elegance to my house. I will be ordering more to cover my entire house. Just a little side note, the antique brass lacquered is a little darker than what is shown in the picture but it's still very beautiful.
