Lovely quality rim latch. Nice finish and blends in well with other original rim latches elsewhere in the house.
Please note that the latch bolt is not reversible.

I bought 2 of these waxed steel rim latches for my bathroom and toilet. They are very good quality and exactly the same size and shape as the original Edwardian ones.

Bought these to fit on new oak bedroom doors for our Edwardian house. Good quality for a very reasonable price. One latch mechanism was problematic and required repeated fiddling with and still isn't quite as crisp as the other latches and one was supplied with the wrong screws. Overall pleased.

Very pleased with this lock which has replaced an original rim lock with a faulty mechanism. It fits exactly over where the old one was. Looks very nice with the gold effect makers mark. In looking at other rim locks online this definitely seems the nicest and most original looking.

Very happy to have discovered these at an amazing price. They look very authentic in terms of style and overall appearance, but the steel gauge and a rather crude mechanism detracted a little from a functional point of view. The LH/RH option was great (badging is the correct way up!) but I had to reverse the tongue on one of my three latches to accommodate outward door opening. That required a little adjustment with a file to make it work smoothly. In general easy to install and an impressive looking latch. Would happily recommend.

Perfect period product; this latch is a close match to others in our 1907 cottage - the finish and solidity of the product is very satisfying and unlike many other modern products it just works. A quality product.

The Broughtons' medallion had actually fallen off and I think the product is better without it! The only niggle is that the screws on the edge of the door aren't countersunk and protrude which is unsightly (I left them off).

Love these latches, they are good quality & work well. Just what we needed to finish the look off in ower cottage with the knobs I purchased with them, we purchased a 45mm & 50mm knobs so we could put a smaller knob with the latch& have a larger knob on the outside of the door.

A great quality product that feels robust and looks good. The metalwork is of a high standard and the operation is easy with a good return spring. The finish, particularly the logo, is excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend these latches.

An excellent lock which has all the finer details of a period piece. Very sturdy construction so excellent value versus the thin metal boxes available elsewhere. Liked the keyless lock (moved from inside) which suited a small loo room perfectly and means no awkward keys to fumble around in the lock.

I’ve just finished renovations a room in an old 1920s house, some of the original bedroom doors and latches are still on but due to age, wear and many years of paint I decided to fit a new cottage style door, one of these latches and some period Bakelite door knobs (also from Broughtons).

The latch is just the same as the original if not better and with the knobs looks great. The quality and finnish are very high quality so I expect them to last for the next 100years.

Overall a good replacement for the existing latches on my 1930's interior house doors. Matches well, easily slipped into the space left by old latch. Drawbacks were the nameplate which as an earlier reviewer found ends up upside down if fitting to a door that hangs from left instead of right. also screws provided were of poor design as were countersink instead of domed which meant that they sat proud of lock, small detail that would easily be rectified by manufacturer. Required me to make additional purchase to overcome. Would I buy again? Yes.

The latch was a near exact replica of the original on the bathroom door. With very little persuasion the latch was fitted. Overall an excellent product at a very reasonable price and quick delivery.

Chose this latch to replace a broken one in our Victorian cottage. I can attest its authentic design since this almost perfectly matches other original latches that I was able to successfully renovate. I agree with the other reviews that it is a well made product at a very competitive price.
I would have given 5 stars, but the first one delivered had a distorted casing. I returned the original with duly completed instructions to replace it. After twice chasing I eventually received an acceptable replacement.
